Jakob Schachamayr was born in 1993 in Austria and began playing the piano at the age of six at the local school of music in Tulln. He was only nine years old when he first participated in the youth music competition Prima la musica. In 2006 he won a first prize at the national competition in the category of solo piano, which was followed by further prizes, not only as a soloist, but also as part of a piano duo.
From 2009 onwards he was taught by Prof. Alejandro Geberovich, at first at the music school Vienna Leopoldstadt, then at the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna. In 2012, he won the third prize at the 4th Concorso Internazionale de Esecuzione Musicale ‚Giovani Musicisti‘ in Italy. After a selection process in 2013 at the Music and Arts University of the City Vienna he was invited to several piano recitals.
Furthermore, Jakob Schachamayr was participant in various master classes, with teachers such as Rudolf Kehrer, the Vienna Young Pianists, Paul Badura-Skoda and Aquiles delle Vigne. From 2013 to 2018 he studied with Prof. Thomas Kreuzberger at the Music and Arts University of the City Vienna. At the Prof. Dichler-Competition 2014 in Vienna he won the first prize with distinction, at the Concorso di Musica Euterpe 2015 he was awarded a third prize. He passed the Bachelor`s examination in 2016 as well as the Master`s examination in 2018 with distinction at the Music and Arts University of the City Vienna. In autumn 2019 he finished the bachelor programme of music education at the University of Music and performing Arts, Vienna.
